review 1: Even this book was very entertaining and action-packed from the beginning, I have to give it only 3 stars because of Illyria and the dreaded love-triangle. I hated how she toyed with both Eamon and Bastien. She really needs to make up her mind. And I don't know if this was just me, but she has way more chemistry with Bastien. It seems like she doesn't have any romantic feeling about Eamon and just loves him like a brother. So, I thought the love-triangle was very lopsided.
review 2: A LOT of teen angst emotional conflicts however I enjoyed the story and the characters had personalities that could both annoy the crap out of you and interest you enough to keep you reading which can be hard to do for a writer and since it evoked real emotion it was enough to keep ... moremy attention through the story. I wish more time was invested in the plot as it was the love conflict but as a whole the book was enjoyable. I would assume those that enjoy teen age geared books (YA/NA) would enjoy reading it more but all around worth the read. less
