review 1: I'm only have 1/2 thru, and I think I'm throwing in the towel. This is the single most depressing book ive ever read. I thought this was like a prequel to another book by her that I thought sounded interesting.. So I don't know if these ratings are people that already liked the story and were biased. Even the H (I think it's the H!) disappears for all the pain then comes in saves her a tiny bit, makes some promises, and then takes off. Bust her out already.. Or something! Lol. I just kept reading hoping it would get better.. Like I could wash the bad taste out of my mouth.. But it's not workin!!
review 2: This book was so dark and depressing. Had lots of gore and graphical scenes which wasn't too bad but the plot was sooo slow paced. There was nothing happening
... more except for her getting tortured and then sulking in pain afterwards :/ I liked Fane but even that aspect was so slow paced and a bit corny. He was so perfect to the point that his imperfections made him even more perfect. I kinda liked Lucien as well. His personality was haaaht but he was such a jerk :/ less

I didn't like the beginning. It got a little better as it went on.
