review 1: It actually took me a while to sit down and get into this; I had a few other books on the go at the same time and found myself re-reading the first page over and over. Once I sat down and gave this book my full attention however, I couldn't put it down. It's a lovely story with something for everyone and varied characters that really stand out as opposed to mixing all together by being too similar. It's a lovely read for Christmas.
review 2: This book was enjoyable and a very easy read, but I can't help feeling a little disappointed. I quite enjoyed the way that it was written and how the three women's stories overlapped at the beginning though there was no need for it to be sectioned as only Bea's story was in first person. The story was pleasant and had a nic
... moree happy ending that I'd expected from this book - the book was predictable and there wasn't really any twists or turns but it was still enjoyable. The thing that most disappointed me was that although the book title and cover make you expect that it's extremely Christmassy, I didn't actually feel as though it was. There were mentions of shopping, food, parties and snow but there was no sense of atmosphere and so it didn't feel like it was particularly something that I'd read to feel the Christmas spirit. A light, enjoyable read but nothing spectacular and something that could be read at any time of year. less
