review 1: Interesting book about a guy who finds out his wife is cheating on him after 10 years of marriage who takes this unfortunate event to start living life. He quits his job and goes to Dublin, Las Vegas, and Thailand to just drink, party, see sights, and meet people. The book details the various experiences he has in each of these places from the bars, to the casinos, to the massage parlors, and also all of the interesting people who he meets along the way. He ends up finding his true love in Thailand where he jumps off a private cruise he was on with a bunch of models and he tries to make the point that finding someone you connect with is better than any other fantasy anyone may have.Definitely is an entertaining read that makes you realize how much there is to experience... more in the world
review 2: I have a feeling that this parody would have been better appreciated if I had managed to read "Eat Pray Love" first. I have heard a fair bit about that book, know what it is about, have a rough outline as to what goes on in it and have heard the criticisms about it. Yet, without the details, I am sure I have missed out a fair bit from this parody. Without this 'background reading', this book only barely manages to stand alone. I guess I will have to bit the bullet and read that damn book now.... less
