review 1: Although Boris is a warthog, he is a lot like you. He has a favorite sweater, he likes to read and play sports. And he likes to dream. He dreams of having adventures, BIG adventures. He lives with his mom and dad in an old bus so one would think it would be easy to pick up and head out into the big wide world. But the bus is more of a house now and his parents don't seem to have a sense of adventure. Yet one day as he is reading a book and dreaming his usual dreams, the bus does something unusual, it moves. Boris' parents are finally heading out to seek adventure. It might only be a short drive from where they live, but adventure and excitement can still be found by those who look. Scholastic Branches is a fun new imprint geared towards beginning chapter book readers. Bori... mores' series is full of colorful pictures and simple text. There are elements of easy readers and even comic books which will make this an entertaining read for kids just branching out into beginning chapter books.
review 2: Boris dreams of adventure, BIG adventures just like his favorite superhero Captain Clive. But life seems so boring--his parents never take him anywhere these days! Kids will relate to Boris, the goofy little warthog who’s the star of this very easy beginning chapter book. They’ll love the cartoon illustrations and the way Boris manages to make adventures out of everyday things like a trip to the park. less
