review 1: glad that i was able to read this book. i like that beetle and jenna are going to be a thing. neat how jenna stepped into her queenly duties. also good that simon and septimus are able to get along now because they are able to separate their roles from magic and alchemy.. fun stuff. now i just need to get a hardcover of Darke so it matches the rest of the set. paperback just doesn't fit in with all the hardcovers.
review 2: The story at the first chapters were a bit slow. I had times that I always put down the book because nothing seems to be happening. But reaching the middle was a different story, and I didn't want to put down the book. I got emotional and attached to the characters while reading it. I love the ending! Although I was thinking Septimus sh... moreould have done something more but it seemed like it was more focused on Jenna and her role as the soon to be queen. And what's more is the introduction of Alice and a new trilogy, yay! less
