review 1: The concept is great...The characters are not...I wanted to like this book, but their motivation is really lacking and the mythos of the relics are soo shallow. And is a famous relic for crying out loud. And man... a super secret and powerful organization with only two Italian ninja guys in a castle? And one of them is senile? wtf?"We are protecting the relic." From what, dust?"Go get the MacGuffin for me" Says the reclusive billionaire. "It's really dangerous, you may die and i won't tell you why I want it or what it does. But hey, here is a hot body guard for you.""Okay!"Maybe the plot gets better with the other books.
review 2: I liked the book despite all of its problems. I absolutely abhor love triangles for the simple reason as they are extremely clique a... morend just not worth the ink used. If a book is going to be good then there does not need to be a love triangle in it. PERIOD.I thought the writing style was immature. The conversations between all the characters lacked depth as it sped along from one scene to another. Both lead males are total jerks and I would hate them both in real life despite how hot they are supposed to be. The lead lady just keeps getting herself in one mix after another and does not seems to learn.The story idea is a pretty good one and that alone is what kept me turning the pages. I will read the second book in the series in hopes that the problems with the first one are worked through. less
