review 1: A very haunting story about domestic violence and an isolated family full of secrets. Set in the mystical snowy setting of British Columbia, Badami does a fantastic job with the players in this tale, but in my opinion, the death of Anu Krishnan (probably the only sane character in the novel) should have been the climax to this story, not the opening event. I remember the emotional connection they made in me, but not the characters or the plots. mmm. less

This book was just to0 sad for my taste, and the characters were just a bit too mean.
