review 1: To be honest, this book confused the hell out of me. I liked how it started and I really liked Elliot. But, then, I got a whole lot of confused. I don't want to give anything away, but I kept saying to myself WTF?! I thought the rest of the wranglers at the ranch were too unphased ny everything going on. Even the word usage didn't make them turn their heads. Who uses the term 'mate' as a human, besides Aussies as a term for 'friend'? Yeah, I didn't think so. So, it was little things like that that made me scratch my head. The ending? COME ON! Overall, Marshall and Elliot were good together.
review 2: I wasn't sure what to expect with this new series, but these cowboy coyotes pleasantly surprised me. It was a nice twist that they weren't really aware ... morethey were shifters until they met their mate. After longing for that special someone but thinking he was destined to be alone, Marshal's attraction and connection to Elliot was on a primal level and his animal instincts were brought to the surface. And since Elliot teased Marshal from the very beginning with naughty suggestions while they were riding his horse back to the ranch, it was only a matter of time before Marshal gave in and claimed him like they both wanted. I'd say their animal counterparts were happy as well. Elliot's amnesia, the homophobic asshole sheriff (and yes I laughed when he peed himself from fear), and the other employees of Marshal's ranch added nicely to the storyline and I can't wait to see what's in store for them next. less
