review 1: This book was okay. Lucia Roa is an event planner who gets an interview with billionaire and Dom Isaac O'Keefe for a Valentine's Day party at the exclusive club Wicked. Isaac is your typical "I don't get into relationships because of something bad from my past Dom." From the start, Lucy was back and forth - first she didn't want the job because Wicked is a kink club, then she wanted it because she can do anything. Isaac offers to be her temporary Master to get her up to speed on how a sub and BDSM works. First she says no, then she agrees. All her research is online and from a friend of Isaac's. Granted she didn't know anything about the lifestyle, but other than being tied up and spanked a couple of times, she didn't act submissive at all, and Isaac didn't seem to mi... morend. She drove me crazy and I just couldn't like her. There was a bit of a mystery and potential blackmail, but it was pretty transparent who was be hind it. There just wasn't enough to compel me to read the next books in this series.
review 2: '...an emissary from the world of leather and lace.'This excerpt describes exactly how this story reads - a romance based around a novices intro into BDSM.I found it slightly too soft for my tastes. Particularly if the Dom has expressed his dark passions and failed to deliver. I prefer BDSM stories to have a strong psychological lean that leads to ultra hot scenes. It felt like the traditional values of romance blurred the line.So this will be a good read for those that like a bit of high profiled Doms who lack the trademark exercised restraint mixed with cute little entrepreneurs who decide to take on the big bad wolf. less
