review 1: The interaction between the ladies and the backstory kept me riveted and I read this in a day. I can't say that I have ever had to deal with what these ladies have dealt with in their lives (for which I am thankful) but I found myself identifying with them anyway. The daily stressors I could understand: work, money, family issues. I would love to be a part of a group like this! The recipes were a fun addition and a couple of the cookies I might just try.
review 2: Marnie is the head cookie bitch, every year she hosts the Christmas Cookie Club in December. ... moreoing to charity. This book is about friendship and as each member takes central stage to deliver their cookies they reflect on this choice of cookie they have made and their year that has gone by. The book is mainly told through the voice of Marnie , how she has met the individuals in the club and how it impacts on each other's lives. A recipe per person at the start of each chapter and an interesting fact about ingredients at the end. I enjoyed this read, easy to pick up and put down and while not my best read to date I feel a little of it will stick with me. less
