review 1: A fascinating exploration of consent, and the culture of entitlement and sexism fostered in footy culture. I really enjoyed this, and liked the mix of heavy research with Krien's personal reactions. I felt that the format didn't quite fit, though; the book was squashed into a 'courtroom drama' structure to create a book-long narrative. Although the lens of the trial brought perspective and story, it was a little over examined.
review 2: Brilliant expose into the dark side of football fame and what happens when the games continue off the field. Krien navigates the grey area between consent and rape - if indeed there is a grey area. One disappointment is the lack of voice from the complainant and indeed other women who have been in this alcohol-fueled male domina
... moreted scenario of an AFL gang-bang. The complainant refused to speak to Krien but more testimonials from other women would have made the book more balanced. Highly recommend this book to all Australians! less

A fantastic book. A combination of meticulous research and fantastic storytelling.

A tough topic, handled quite well. Perhaps too much of the author?
