review 1: I really enjoy reading this book, especially if I had children of my own. This story is about a little girl named Lola. She loves going to the library with her dad to borrow books. Each day she borrows a different kind of book. After she reads each story, the next day she becomes the character or pretends to play the character of the story. The story walks you through each day, Monday through Friday. This book contains few words for students to follow along with colorful pictures. Lola’s characters will influence many young children, especially kindergarten and first grade children to enjoy reading. It will motivate children to read because they can connect to Lola after each time they finish reading a book. Children will enjoy listening to this imaginative stor... morey because they could relate it with their own parents. I think that as teachers, we could ask our students what they would predict Lola will dress up or become. It is a great way for students to predict what will happen next. I think I would read this book to help them with their calendar such as days. This book is great to read for students in grades K-1.
review 2: Cute pictures and a story about how reading is amazing? Count me in!I normally pick books with more realistic pictures, but these are very well done and fit the tone of the book. The story follows Lola through the week as she reads books and how it feeds her imagination and her playtime the next day. Read a book about travel - go on adventures with toys. Read a book about tigers - spend time stalking prey through the tall grasses.I am so glad I found the Lola books. They are sweet books, nothing to worry about or correct, have adorable pictures, show how books are a positive influence on kid's imaginations, are good easy readers, and are engaging enough for even toddlers to sit and listen. less

Still cute, still sweet, still pro-literacy. A bit of a redundant sequel, though.

Sweet little homage to Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are at the end!

The Lola stories (series? Just sequel?) are too cute.
