review 1: Una historia con pasado trágico, muchos recuerdos y fantasmas de ese pasado, secretos familiares y misterio en el presente. Incluso con parte romántica que encaja muy bien con el resto. Una de las cosas que más me ha gustado es la ambientación, casi me apetecía vivir yo misma en la casa y todo. Al principio se hace un poco lenta pero no tarda en coger el ritmo y empezar a mejorar. Espero poder leer más cosas de la autora.
review 2: While I enjoyed the basic story and mystery of Thornwood House, I found the descriptions and details frustratingly thick and long-winded. I ended up skimming an awful lot, especially in the second half as I didn't need to know which tree stood where or which bird was singing every single minute. The mystery was interesting, wel... morel researched and gripping, and the characters were generally easy to connect with (unless Ms Romer didn't want you to connect…yet…). I wanted very much to know whodunnit (which was great as the mystery really engaged me), but was very impatient at having to trawl through some 450 pages largely of description. less
