review 1: This book was difficult to follow. The narration was, I believe, intended to be fluid, but I was utterly lost in the rapid transitions - I often had to flip back a few pages and re-read to figure out if I was with present-Jane or past-Jane. I will concede that the transitions may be easier in a physical copy. However, the Kindle version I read was full of grammatical errors, which coupled with the issues in flow I mentioned above, made this a difficult story for me to finish. I actually rolled my eyes a few times and thought, "just spill your story already!" I will not be reading the rest of this trilogy. Unfortunate, because the snippet was so promising.
review 2: This isn't my usual style of book, but found it enthralling. Jane is definitely odd, but in her
... morerambling thought patterns the flashbacks between past and present come across smoothly. The ending left me still with a few questions but no doubt they will be revealed in the second book. The author has cleverly weaved snippets of clues into Jane's inner dialogue about what happened at the lake. I will certainly buy her books in future. Disclosure: I received a review copy of this book from the author. I did not receive any payment in exchange for this review nor was I obliged to write a positive one. less

I quit reading after the first dozen or so pages. I was just bored with it.

No flow. No conclusion. A terrible waste of time.
