review 1: Full disclosure : I received this book from the author for an honest review.Now that the formalities are out of the way. This book does not disappoint!! I loved Celine and George's romance! The wit between both of them was refreshing. I also liked how the other characters from Penelope was brought back and allowed us to fall in love with them again. I read this book in one day. I seriously could not put this book down for a second. Well worth any amount of money.Anya Wylde is a brilliant author. Keep them coming. Signed : A Loyal fan
review 2: This book was a nice enjoyable read. I did not like it as well as the other two books by Anya Wylde (Penelope and The Wicked Wager). I kept thinking I was missing something in this story. I think I was. I didn't realize ... morewhen I first started to read it that it was a "sequel" to Penelope. It wasn't that the story didn't make sense on its own, it did so just fine, but there were semi-persistent references to the earlier story. And, though I liked the earlier book, apparently I didn't remember it all that well. What Anya Wylde does well is to create "madcap" regency stories that are silly and amusing. In this particular version, I found my own personal ride along this fast paced track to be interrupted with bumps and jars as I hit up against references I could almost--but not quite--recognize. If you liked the earlier books, re-read Penelope and then read this. If you haven't read anything by this author, start with the other two. less
