review 1: I received this book in exchange for my honest review. Thanks to the DBML group and he Author for this opportunity! This is a first read from this Author. I have to say I really liked Anyta Sunday's writing style. It was smooth and it pulls you in, and overall was a very easy and quick read. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author. The book focuses more on the budding friendship that eventually evolves between Liam and Quinn. I love GFY books. I love watching the moment when it clicks. I had a hard time finding that spark that clicks between these two. I didn't really care for Liam, for someone who was a self induced hermit in need of friends he's kind of off-putting. He has a very dry, honest-ness to him that makes it sort of hard to warm up to, but refreshing... more at the same time. I wish I would of gotten a little bit more of them as a couple. There are a lot of characters in this book. Personally the one that fascinated me the most was Hunter. I was more caught up wanting to find out about him. And subsequently him and Mitch than I was about Liam and Quinn. I was a bit confused about the reporting of the parties. I guess I expected it to be more of 'who's who' party guide, like an insight to the best social parties. Instead of an outsiders view of an angle of the party. What saved this book for me was the little mystery. Finding out who The Raven was. I was very well pleasantly surprised with the big reveal. I mean you know, but you just don't know. I liked that. I might of been closer to just thinking this book was okay. Not liking it or hating it. But the ending, pulled together so many of the literary pieces that were so close to being overlooked. It brought new depth of insight to a couple of the characters.
review 2: I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review as part of the Don't Buy Our Love I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review as part of the Don't Buy Our Love program on Goodreads. This is a very, very enjoyable read that I couldn’t (and didn’t) put down from the moment I picked it up. This is not an emotional ride, not a book that makes you feel all wrung out, even though it skims some deeper issues. But that’s not a bad thing because our POV-character Liam is a very rational guy. He makes decisions based on logic and well, he has emotions and some (daddy) issues, but for him they have nothing to do with why he should or should not do anything. So when he finds out he’s attracted to a guy, he never freaks out about it, analyses his feelings and makes an experiment out of it. I love that part of Liam, and also love the way he goes about what he wants. He’s nerdy, and definitely socially awkward (but only because he never really saw the point in making friends), but never shy and he simply says what he thinks and what he wants. That makes for some pretty funny situations that sometimes made me scratch my head. I mean, shouldn’t he at least be a bit uncertain the first time he’s with a guy? But again, for him it makes sense. And the fact that he goes around with his notebook scrabbling details down for his journalistic pieces, even when he has to write a party column, loved that! Can you see I liked Liam? The other characters were very enjoyable as well, though I think Shannon could’ve been a bit more fleshed out. Quinn and Hunter were great, very lovable both and for a while I didn’t know who Liam would end up with. Quinn is simply adorable, maybe even too good to be true, but not in an annoying way. And I really would like to see a sequel with Hunter finding some happiness. And even the little mystery part (something that usually only annoys me) was well done and even for me not that hard to figure out.I need to check out more by this author and need that now! less

While I enjoyed the story and LOVED the supporting characters, I'm not sure how much I liked Liam.

Great story, compelling characters, too much onomatopoeia.
