review 1: This was a beautifully written book. I can't believe the author just graduated from high school a few short months ago! This one book explained more things to me about what being transgender truly means than anything else I've ever read or watched combined. It's a topic that I'm very interested in since I'm a huge supporter of LGBT rights, but I've never known anyone who is transgender and don't know much about it. I'm always afraid of saying something wrong and accidentally offending someone who is transgender or the person's family or friends. After reading this though, I'd feel comfortable and would be eager to get to know someone who is transgender. I'm so glad that I read this book and plan on recommending it to many people!
review 2: This is a brave story
... more by an FTM transgender teen that is a very engaging, quick read. It really helped me understand something about gender dysphoria. Adolescence is a difficult time for anybody; this book helps you imagine the confusions and challenges that transgender teens face. It's an excellent addition for high school collections and would be appropriate for mature middle school students. Some of the frank descriptions of body parts would be a little much for the general middle school population. less
