“Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.” – Calvin Coolidge
So many fond memories from the last few weeks. We hosted so many family and friends between Christmas and New Year’s and are just grateful for the space we can share.
Amidst the crazy amounts of people, preparations and holiday cheer, it’s hard to pause and find solitude to think about the meaning of Christmas. But what a beautiful thing to carve out time for… I think of Amy Grant’s song, “I Need a Silent Night.” Not because the gatherings aren’t fabulous and the conversations so rich. But because if we don’t pause in the middle of it, we miss some of the tender whisperings of the Spirit… “I have come for you. I am here.”
For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.Isaiah 9:6
May the message of hope this Christmas carry you through 2018!
