review 1: The Silent Wife is excellent; it’s deep and insightful psychoanalysis of two flawed characters. Throughout the story, we witness the disintegration of Jodi and Todd and their 20 years together. It’s a cautionary tale on how not to treat your significant other. It’s not a novel to read casually – sometimes it’s dark and emotionally oppressive, but quite enjoyable, if that makes any sense. review 2: I had no intention of finishing this book. It came highly recommended but it was entirely too dramatic for my taste. But once I start a book I have a hard time not seeing it through. It was about a woman who lived with a man for 20 years but never marries him. He is not the best of men and takes advantage of his partner in every manner. But she sets herself ... moreup for this and in the end we find out why. less
