review 1: The Silent Wife is excellent; it’s deep and insightful psychoanalysis of two flawed characters. Throughout the story, we witness the disintegration of Jodi and Todd and their 20 years together. It’s a cautionary tale on how not to treat your significant other. It’s not a novel to read casually – sometimes it’s dark and emotionally oppressive, but quite enjoyable, if that makes any sense.
review 2: I had no intention of finishing this book. It came highly recommended but it was entirely too dramatic for my taste. But once I start a book I have a hard time not seeing it through. It was about a woman who lived with a man for 20 years but never marries him. He is not the best of men and takes advantage of his partner in every manner. But she sets herself
