review 1: Really lovely book of colors. Stands out on that crowded shelf, too. (Aug 6, 2013)I read this to a group of preschoolers and it went very well. The kids had a lot of questions about the variety of wildlife baby bear encounters; we discussed oaks (a very big tree with green leaves) and trout (a big brown fish with spots). I appreciate that this book has such great vocabulary and doesn't just follow the same rote pattern of every other color book (with the exception of the ending rainbow, which I hate, but the kids predicted it and were excited to see it). (Sept 17, 2014)This was less successful with my toddlers-only storytime - the preschool kids liked it and were curious about it, but the toddlers were bored. I had to cut it short. (Sept 18, 2014)
review 2: Bab... morey Bear Sees Blue is about a bear who leaves his den with his mother and they go on a adventure where baby bear experiences new colors and experiences. The story starts with dark colors in the den when Baby Bear wakes up in the cave. The illustrator correlates the pictures with whats being said in the book. The colors are easy to follow and they could probably tell the story without the words. I would recommend this to children who are in the 2nd grade because it as an easy read and the pictures are happy. less
