review 1: Spoiler. this book was entertaining and helped me get through a lot of driving. however I was very annoyed that the librarian wasn't trying to save the library before the city counsel gave her an ultimatum. a true librarian would have been trying different programs to increase attendance from the start. even one fresh out of school. however the rest was fun getting to know the characters and learning about their lives. but there really wasn't an ending. the library ends up being saved, for now. but nothing was really resolved. unless this is a series and I didn't realize it.

Those people don't see the library as the educational and job hunting resource it's always been.""Sometimes I wonder what the future of communicating through books will be with all this electronic instant gratification," Maura Beth added. "There are those who feel that some readers will always want to hold a bound copy in their hands -- something that they can put on a shelf and down to their children as part of our cultural heritage. And there's the doomsday scenarios which will always favor books." "Tell me about it." "It's the one where if civilization falls apart and there's no technology left, you can still read a book lying in the grass munching berries or sitting up in a tree eating a banan less

This is an easy read. Like able characters. And delicious sounding recipes at the end.

Unrealistic and trite. Not much depth to the characters.
