Snowmageddon 2018

There are some definite perks to having been PCS’d this year. The top of our list:

SNOW!!!!!

Last night, “Snowmageddon 2018” (as we have dubbed it) made it’s downfall into our quaint little housing community and we couldn’t have been more thrilled. It has been over four years since we last saw any snow and we were so excited we could barely sleep.

There is something so magical and beautiful about snow. It just warms your heart as you watch it slowly drift to the ground below, little by little, creating a magnificent blanket of beauty as far as the eye can see.

As the storm first began last night, we were unable to take much of it in, aside from the view through our window and a quick photo opp from our porch, as the winds were nearly 50mph. So while it steadily fell and accumulated on our lawn, we completed our school assignments for the day and awaited anxiously for today to arrive.

For Christmas Maximus received the “Teach Yourself to Draw Research Handbook Sea Creatures” Fun-Schooling Journal and he was very excited to begin working in it. His first assignment was to choose which animal from the Research Handbook he wanted to learn about first. He chose the dolphin and off he went to the internet (with my help of course) to explore and learn some of the first few facts that our handbook wanted us to research. Here are a few shots of him in action:

I will be posting a separate post entirely devoted to this incredible Research Handbook with more images of the inside and I may even do a video flip through of it so that you can see it’s contents. We are already in love with it and plan to buy others like this one in the series.

We were able to complete math, science, writing and reading and then still had time to pop some popcorn and watch a movie before bed.

Then, early this morning we woke up to the most beautiful scenery in the world and spent the day exploring and playing in the snow! It was the perfect opportunity to capture some beautiful photography which I am always so excited to do.

It has been a great couple days and we are excited for more snow tomorrow and are looking forward to wrapping up our week and getting to enjoy a nice, restful weekend. I hope your week has been as lovely as ours!

Blessings and Love,

Kristy ❤
