review 1: I have an addiction to billionaire love stories and I need to stop I'm always left wanting so much more. however in this story Malcom (rich crazy billionaire) meets Sadie and they embark on a artistic adventure because Sadie broke a vase from an auction that was thousands of dollars. In the midst of their relationship Sadie discovers Malcom wants to commit suicide and therfore tries to save him because she aways wants to save the men she is with. I really like the mystery in this book but the end leaves much to be desired. I am glad I discovered this when it was the complete collection serial reads bother me. overall I marked it down because Sadie s character and Malcom character were consistent and the ending was rushed.
review 2: Most erotic romance sticks to
... more some formula or another. Ava Lore takes one of the formulas - ordinary woman meets dominant billionaire - and makes it something her own. In doing so, it becomes genuinely special. Her heroine isn't a bland everywoman, but a distinct and believable character whose emotional journey and dark past gets as much weight as the hero's angst. She's tough but vulnerable, and even gets to rescue herself! Her heroine isn't just a rich control freak, but a lost soul on a desperate mission. I got very attached to them and their relationship, and rooted for them to work out their differences and heal from their troubled pasts. I also enjoyed that when Malcolm acts creepy, Sadie calls him on it - and he listens. That sort of respect and connection made me really believe that their relationship could work out.The gimmick of the story is that all the sex scenes involve art in some way: having sex on clay, painting on the body, and so forth. But it's not just a gimmick - it's really different and sizzling hot.My favorite part was a dreamy interlude on a boat. It's written differently from the rest of the book, and is poetic and gorgeous.I have a few minor nitpicks - Lore didn't quite sell me on Malcolm's odd dark secret, the bdsm seemed tacked-on rather than integral to the characters, and I wanted to see Sadie actually do some art at the end. But those are minor points.I would definitely read more by Ava Lore. She's truly an original voice in the field. The cover is GORGEOUS. less
