review 1: Hands down one of my favorite books of the year. It passed the Bechdel test so many times, and the variety of strong female characters was just perfect. It wasn't just the 'kickass fighting' strong female character (though she was present in Amelie), but there were strong women of all different roles and specialties, something that, alas, is not very common in a lot of the fantasy that I pick up. A+ story, great twists, and definitely recommended.
review 2: Okay I actually give this a 4 1/2 Stars. I wouldn't say it was amazing, but it was Really Really Good and intriguing. I loved the story line, the mystere of the seers, all the different things happening at the same time, the suddle teasing and liking interest of opposite sexes, but yet not Overly romantice o... morer any smutt. Don't get me wrong I love a good romance book, but that's if my intentions are to buy it for that in the Romance section. SOmetimes in the fantasy sections they have too much romance crap I didn't buy the book for. I'ts been a Long time since I found a good sic-fi and fantasy like book the last one that I really loved was the Black Magicians trilogy over 2 yrs ago. I started this book late at night close to midnight and couldn't put it down till almost 7am when I just past out. Then I woke up and 10am and finished it right away. My only regret is that I have to wait almost 6 months for the next series in line!!>. uggghhh!! I usually by older books with all the series out, but I haven't found any of interest of..of late, so this caught mine and I had to check it out. I found it while browsing Barnes and Nobles and then scanning for best prices. It was the same as amazon and I had to buy it. I loved how the 2 sisters have there stories told and there is no incompletion about the book or cliff hangers. It pretty much explains everything on how it is, was and came to be. Nothing was left out and it told the stories of everyone, which I loved! I am looking forward to the next book! less
