An Abigail Adams Mystery
review 1: Great historical mystery! This was set in 1773 in Boston, weeks before the Boston Tea Party. Its sleuth was none other than Abigail Adams. I was pleased at the setting, it's not often that I come across a historical mystery not set in Britain. The story was well-paced, the historical setting and nature of the characters was realistic and the mystery was good. Also, I thought the subtle handling of a sensitive subject (in modern eyes) was well done. Really enjoyed this, I'm looking forward to more in the series.
review 2: A friend handed this to me, and I previously knew nothing of this author or this series. Well! First of all, Abigail Adams makes a wonderful detective, for many of the same reasons I admire her. Add to that the amount of research this author cl
... moreearly did, and the skillful way she incorporates it within the mystery framework so that it add a tremendous sense of place and time, and adds to the character development, and I'll just say, I'll be reading more of the series, if only to see if the author maintains this level. less
