review 1: I picked this book up from the library when I was actually looking for a different book. The story was cute, but I'm not thrilled how she ended it. Is it a series?I also felt like there was a lack of detail. I kept having to read back thinking I missed something's, when the real problem was there was just no detail to support that part of the story. This happened more than I liked, so only 2 stars.
review 2: Oh dear. This book had so much promise and possibility. We could have heard more about JM Barrie and the wonderful history and architecture around Stanway House. ... morerotic ramblings of the main character, who seemed to be fixated on saying "sorry" to everyone, and who seemed more interested in wondering why no one was denying themselves food! I was never given any real insight into why Lilia held onto her daughters death for 6 years, and expected her son in law and grandchild to stay in mourning too. It was all so trite and superficial, with one dimensional characters that you couldn't develop any relationship with. In short, I can't believe it took five years to write this book. The best thing about it was the cover. less
