review 1: This was a light read that took me about a day and a half to complete. I didn't find this book anything to rave about but it was an interesting mix of erotica and suspense and was perfect foe a weekend read. I found that Barbara Palmers did a better job with the suspense and erotica mix than what was done with the 50 shades series. I must admit that I couldn't put the book down and couldn't find a good place to stop reading because of the suspense factor. All in all I'd give this a 3.5.
review 2: Received from Penguin Canada.I loved it! Sexy and dramatic! An enjoyable read all the way through. It had enough plot and character development to be more then just a sexy read. My only caution (spoiler warning)There were many references to childhood sexual/physical
... more abuse and several rape scenes. All though well written and handled by not glorifying or trivializing either, they might be triggers for those with similar past experiencesThis is actually what I found most intriguing about Claudine. That a women in the sex trade can be raped/stalked/abused and the general reaction of she deserved it that the people around her have. The balance of sexual liberation and being a toy for hire. I think it was handled well. Also the blatant sexism and racism from the detectives was interesting. less

Well that was different! Unlike any other story line and I appreciated its uniqueness.

It was a lot more explicit than I expected. I did like the story.
