Every year it has become tradition for us to dress up in cute outfits or awesome matching pajamas and snap a wonderful and adorable family photo to send out on Christmas cards or with our Christmas cards. Even the dogs get in on the festivities. It has been one of our favorite things to do each year.
However, with Mister O’s crazy work schedule and Little Miss M in the picture now, our tradition seemed to get pushed to the wayside until the very last minute. So this week, we decided to attempt to get just a simple family photo. Nothing major. No fur babies to make things easier. Just Christmas color outfits and the four us in front of our little hearth at home.
No problem. It seemed SUPER easy and fast enough.
I was wrong. VERY VERY VERY wrong.
Little Miss M was ferociously trying to eat her Christmas dress, Mister M just wanted to play with my already set up and ready to go camera and tripod, Mister O was struggling with getting positioned and so, alas, our quick and easy family photo opportunity turned into an awkward family photo nightmare.
After just about 15 to 20 minutes of trying desperately to get the baby to smile, not eat her dress, not cry or keep my son positioned and the dogs from randomly running across the scene, I said ENOUGH. I gave up. Whatever we got was what everyone was getting.
And so it is without further adieu that I present to you our new photo series: “Real Life Greetings”.
Because why would Holiday Greetings be made of anything else right?
Hope you enjoy viewing them more than we did taking them!
In Christ’s Love,
Kristy ❤
