review 1: Re-read and re-rated. What frustrated me at the first reading? Well, this had two likable MC's, an intriguing start to a D/s hookup and lots of sexual tension. A gorgeous, commanding, cross-dressing Japanese cop seduces a didn't-know-he-was-into-heavy-kink, sexually adventurous NYC cop. Sparks finally fly, the hotness gets cooking, and...then...it...just...ends. Hotness Interruptus. Not nice. Now, I will read the sequel -- I have to find out what happens but it had better be worth it. Upgraded to 3 stars for the Hotness quotient, good writing, and potential.
review 2: The controversial title aside, this was a deep story. I am not a fan of the mistaken/intentional misleading of gender theme that Barbara Sheridan seems fond of. Once we got past that point... moreless part of the book, it picked up. Had it been longer, it could have been a very insightful tale into the heart of a D/s relationship. How it forms, what drives the two to their designated roles, how the switch can be necessary...etc. I don't know why she cut if off so quickly. We only get a taste and it left me wanting so much more. Regardless, it was a hot read and they were beautiful c*cksuckers for much too short a time. less
