review 1: Free download. This book isn't very long but I now have to have the sequel, I really enjoyed Regans story. Regan is trying to find a job so she doesn't have to starve and end up returning home, which she doesn't want to do. She left 6 years ago and didn't look back. She's always looked after herself and has no problem working hard and earning everything she has. When she answers an ad for a cocktail waitress she never expected to get the job but she does and on her first night she comes face to face with Carter Sutton, billionaire. He's gorgeous, authoritative and gets what he wants. She can't seem to forget him and has a strange need to please him, the attraction is most definitely mutual. With some unusual initial requests their connection takes on a surreal feeling but... more a mistake by Carter nearly breaks the tentative relationship they have. Will he be able to salvage whatever they have between them? This book was Hot. I found myself wishing I was at the club. The plot is not overly original but it doesn't matter, the characters are interesting, the content is good and the chemistry is sexy. I am really looking forward to seeing where their relationship goes, the sequel is much longer so I'm expecting a full on finale. Would recommend.
review 2: Ok let me start by saying, I really don't like cliffhangers. Especially in short books. While this particular one wasn't on the lengthy side, something about it felt kind of rushed. But I suppose you would be in a rush too if your bank account was rapidly approaching zero and your bill collectors were just around the corner. This is a Cinderella story turned BDSM. Poor girl needs rescue, enter billionaire with a proposal. Very straight forward, no hidden agendas (apart from the one that annoyingly was NOT expanded upon, at least not in this book) and some tantalizing details to boot.Still, for my hardcore heart, it was a lot more vanilla than I would have liked. Sure the circumstances weren't idyllic, but were I Carter, I would have pushed more, and have plunged Regan head first into the magnificent freedom that comes with punishment.Ah well, the promise is there. Let's see what the 2nd part of the Silver Cross club will bring :) less
