review 1: Ok. This was kind of ridiculous.I'm a huge fan of the Pride and Prejudice rewrites (just look at my shelf) but this has to be the most ridiculous I have read. The author had a good idea....and then completely messed it up. What upset me the most was the fact that she couldn't decide whether she wanted the dialogue either to be modern day (e.g. how we talk in regular, friend-to-friend conversations) or if she wanted to take Austen's wording. It was frustrating to hear both, since for me its one or the other. The situations were not too far-fetched, others were just plain ridiculous (Spoilers: Darcy hanging off a cliff face while proposing to Elizabeth - yeah, I'm sure it was weird for you to read as it was for me to write). The only positive thing I can say about this book i... mores that Belinda Roberts sure knew her boat/sailing terminology. I though those parts were well written and realistic. In all, please read something else!
review 2: This book is a ridiculous romp, but good fun. It has several quirks that could be annoying. For example, the diction is a strange mix between the 18th- and 21st-centuries that is often awkward. Also, most news in the book is delivered via text message--no letters, phone calls, or emails. There are also some obvious story problems--such as a character breaking her leg and jaw, yet swimming in the sea within a week. But overall, the story manages to be silly, light, and fun. I enjoyed it, though it's not a book I'd purchase. less

Super fast paced. Very silly at times, almost too much so.
