review 1: Why is it in these erotic romances that the heroine always knows so much about classical music, and can pick out the exact composer and the exact piece which is playing. And why does the male always LISTEN to classical music?? why not rock or dance or metal? It just makes all the stories so SIMILAR and unbelievable. As much as I am enjoying the story, the music taste and the young heroine knowing so much about classical music makes me a little bit nauseous. " Classical music resounded sedately from the surround sound stereo. Bach - the Bradenberg concertos, she recognized after a few seconds." Really only a few seconds into a classical music piece you'd know the exact piece and composer as if that's what she listens to all the time at home? Do all virgins listen to c... morelassical music? because it certainly seems that way between Fifty Shades of Grey by E L James, and Because You are Mine by Beth Kery.
review 2: Have you ever signed up for a convention or a seminar? Bought your ticket, was kind of excited to get out of town and go somewhere new...You get there and everything is just lush; you get all settled in and you're happy with your decision that you decided to come. Then about an hour in to the first speaker you realize this isn't exactly what you thought it would be and you sort of just want to go back home? But on the same note, you're conflicted about feeling that way because you paid money to be here and you feel like if you stick it out it will be worth getting through these first few hours and you'll be happy again? In a very strange sort of way, this book is my "convention". Part of me wants to completely stop reading it because I'm tired of the "stop" and "go's" every week...another part of me says, "Hey, we're already this far into it, and the story is pretty decent, we need to finish it out!" It's hard for me to give these "parts" ratings because while I like parts of this story (particularly I think that this part was better than the last part I read, though, I'm still not entirely convinced of the relationship progression between them...) every time I start a new section of this book I am completely lost and I mean completely. Usually right about that time I start getting back into it and liking it...surprise, my two chapter limit for the week is up. So, it's very difficult for me to judge this story as a "whole" when I'm only given snippets to base my rating on.I've considered waiting until all the other parts of this book are released and then reading the rest of this novel all at once...my issue with that is I fear I won't remember much of what I've read so far and I'll end up wasting all of that prior reading time having to re-read those "sections" again.I know the author states that the book is being released this way to allow readers to have a "group" reading experience but, at least for me, it's taking what I think could be a really good story and ripping it apart.I'd liken it to trying to watch a two hour movie in ten minute increments over a 12 week period. Obviously, you are not going to enjoy it or get the full experience as much as you would if you watched the whole thing at one time. I'm going to finish this book out because I feel like I'm already too invested in it but, I will never read another book that is released in "parts" like this again. It may be some people's cup of tea and to each their own but, it takes all the fun out of reading for me. less
