review 1: This book kept me turning the pages. I especially loved it since I had just been to Charleston on my anniversary trip, and the Charleston Charm was so familiar to me. I loved all of the main characters. Throughout the story I thought about struggles women go through--the seen and the unseen. I love the bond the girls have, and Alisha's story was especially interesting to me. I think Hart does a great job of portraying life's ups and downs and how to get through.
review 2: I picked up this book just by accident and checked it out of our church library. This is a great book and I am having a hard time putting it down. The four main characters are a Episcopal Minister, Roy Summerall, and three young women in the parish of St Michaels in Charleston, the church where
... more he is called to preach; Lish, Della, and Anne. The character who suffers the most is Lish as she gave birth to her third child via an early and unexpected c-section, subsequently suffering through a life-threatening mental and physical illness afterwards. I identified with the post-partal depression Lish endured. So many women suffer from this and seldom does anyone address the issue in novels. I will surely finish the book, recommend it to others as well as look for more books by Beth Webb Hart. less
