review 1: I found it incredible. It is not by any means an apologetic. O'Reilly took the historical account we have from the Bible and filled in blanks with information from other sources as well as the customs of the people of the time and the area. The end result is a continuous account of the information leading up to the arrest and execution of Jesus. Very worth reading by Christians and non Christians alike.
review 2: I am a history major in college and non religious. With that in mind I could only give this book 3 stars because it was more historical fiction than non fiction. A lot of what someone was thinking and not actual documented words. A lot of the information given on the Romans was loosely based on historical documents. If you read this book as a histori
... morecal fiction and not as a non fiction book it is a fairly quick read and enjoyable. less

I really enjoyed the historical context this book gives to spiritual context of the Bible.
