review 1: I really enjoyed this peek into Bob Saget's life. I laughed for sure, but there were also some very touching moments. It was really interesting to hear the behind the scenes info on where all the raunchy humor comes from, that's it's actually a defense mechanism for dealing with the many tragedies that have been part of his family's life. I listened to the audio version and enjoyed his narration as well.
review 2: I'm a fan of Saget and going in I knew that this book could be taken in a variety of ways. I've seen Full house and I have also seen his comedy specials. What I haven't seen is Bob Saget sucking dick for coke. You're either going to like the book or you're not. I for one thought the book was a lot of fun and unlike most biographies you don't get ... morethe entire Saget history. It's Saget riffing much like he does with his comedy and while it may bug some people I thought it was a nice approach to the standard biography. He takes a topic and runs with it. There is a bit of tragedy here but it just shows you the strength of Saget and then you get the Saget words of wisdom which you can apply to your own life if you choose to do so. The point is that Dirty Daddy is what it is. If you're a fan you'll enjoy the hell out of it and if not well maybe you should read another biography. The thing that I found surprising was that it wasn't as dirty as I had thought it would be. Sure there is a bit here that would offend people who aren't aware that Saget is a dirty comedian but he doesn't single you people out and try to shock you. I thought the book was funny and yep even tragic at times but it's not the typical tell all that we've come to expect and that's what I liked the most about Dirty Daddy. less
