In Portugal it’s usual to receive an invitation to go have a drink. Now, in downtown Porto, also called Baixa, you can have a glass of beer, vodka and also milk. Yes, milk with some cereals!
These drinks are made with the innumerable offerings of nostalgic millennial cereals, national and imported, and it’s possible to add pieces of chocolate, caramel, candies, dried fruits and a lot more accompaniments. Here we ask for Chocapics, Estrelitas, Golden Grahams or Corn Flakes and not Mojitos!
Baixa is also for the child inside us!It is undoubtedly a very innovative concept and different from what we are used to, the fact that we go to a cafe to eat cereals with milk is not usual!
I loved all those colorful cereal boxes displayed all over the room and Pop Art decor really helps in the cartoon mood!
The employees are young and the service is fast and helpful.
I ordered a bowl with caramel cereal which contained golden grams, mini chips, caramel topping and plain milk.
This was a preset combination of cereal from the menu and I enjoyed mixing it with ice cream – a combination that I would never have remembered and which was suggested to me by the staff and that works very well!
if it is your first time, don’t worry, you are in good hands and they will explain to you how everything works. However the dynamics are simple, choose three cereals, add two toppings and add milk to taste.
We can opt for already made combinations or venture on the adventure and make a brutal mix of cereals and toppings.
Beyond the cereal bowls there are still milkshakes for those who do not want to chew!! On my next visit I will risk and make my own mix!Going to eat cereals away from home?! Absolutely yes! It’s so worth it!
