review 1: I have to say that the cartoon Amelia's cries of, "That was awesome!" made me laugh out loud, especially the excited look on her face. This is a story of pursuing one's dreams despite the doubts of others. The book does not go into her disappearance or some of the other things that happened in her life which is appropriate for the age group this is aimed at. The inclusion of photographs at the end of the book makes the story all the more realistic.
review 2: I loved this book. I have been an Amelia Earhart fan all my life--my dad's awe of this woman was imparted to me. (Although I think he was intrigued more by the mystery of her demise.)Just coming off "The All-Girl Filling Station's Last Reunion" (Fannie Flagg) and having adored "Amelia and Eleanor go for
... morea ride" (Pam Munoz Ryan) this book fell into my lap! This is a book for children that explains that one's passion is within them from when they are very young. The author shows experiences that marked Amelia's life as she was getting to be a pilot. I am glad that the author mentioned that there was still HARD WORK involved. And that Amelia had to put up with many people denying that she could do it. I also like that the author invites the readers to ignore detractors when they/the readers are on their way to their dreams. After the story, the author has a section of photos of Amelia Earhart. Wonderful! less

Loved the illustrations! Reminded me of little Ellie from the Pixar movie "Up."
