review 1: I think the magic of The Kindling is what many of us dreamed would happen to us when we were in Middle School. I wish it had. I like that the characters in this book are nice normal kids with regular parents who love them and treat them well. These are happy people that something crazy, wild and wonderful happens to. The magic is fun and intense. I love Braden Bell's writing. A few of his phrases actually made me laugh out loud!
review 2: Great book! Lots of imagination and fun, realistic characters. I love how the kids discover their powers and learn how to use them. I felt like I was right there experiencing the story as it unfolded and I really enjoyed the interaction between the teachers and the kids. Loved Lee, a character that has such a great voice.... more This is a fantastic story that explores good and evil and how important it is to make good choices. less
