review 1: This book was good! For a long time I been reading thee worst books ever! (Sister Souljah "A deeper love inside")....this was what I needed. I loved it, a def. page turner. Although it wasn't very original, like I said I had been reading the worst books, I desperately needed to read something that made me go omgggggg no this bitch didn't! This was it. I love me some Brick bitch! Haha I would definitely read a part 2 so hopefully that's in the making. IM NOT READY TO SAY BYE TO BRICK!!!!!!! lol *im serious
review 2: So same same same...nothing makes this book stand out from the endless number of urban lit novellas on the shelves at bookstores.Brandi Johnson did not even attempt to switch up the formula. Not a single likeable character.There's rape, incest, drug ... moreabuse, drug addiction, alcoholism, the glorification of the unlawful sale and distribution of illegal substances, teenage pregnancy, murder, HIV transmission, prostitution, abuse against women, broken households...just way too much. It's like a literary Tyler Perry play - that's not a compliment.Nothing good happened in the book. At all. The most depressing thing I've encountered this year. I don't recommend it. less
