review 1: Love Triangle by Brenda Barrett is a novella told from the perspective of three people, a husband, a wife, and the husband's mistress. A quick read, the story allows the reader a front row seat to the mental, emotional, and physical consequences of having an affair. Lust and lies confront a Christian couple, forcing them to put their faith and devotion to one another to the test while another woman's happiness hangs in the balance.Let me begin by saying that this novella is a page turner and demonstrates the great potential of this author. She delivers a story that is engrossing from page one; I finished the book in one sitting. I love her written voice and her presentation reflects a natural talent for storytelling. With that being said, there were some issues with the st... moreory that slightly distracted this reader. Although the story is written from the point of view (POV) of all three characters, there is an inconsistency with the narrative in that sometimes the POV is written from the first person perspective (I or my) and other times it is written from the third (he or she). There is also inconsistency with tense usage. The story takes place in Jamaica which is wonderful, however, the reader is not completely aware of this until four chapters in. The ending also feels slightly rushed and I would have liked to see more of the wife's process to coming to her final decisions.I know it may seem as if with these issues, the book should not be a 4-star, but the story is really good, so much so that the issues do not turn the reader off or take away from the developing plot. I only offer this much detail in pointing out the issues because I believe this author has great talent and with the help of a good editor, could really write amazing books. I would definitely recommend her work and look forward to reading other books by the author.
review 2: I really enjoyed this read. I don't think I've ever read a story told from all three perspectives of a love triangle. It was very interesting to see what the wife that was cheated on has to endure. I thought Marie was at her breaking point many times, but she really turned out to be a very strong woman and that was admirable. Karen was your usual mistress, but in the end it seemed like she got herself on track. George really surprised me. Although he did his dirt he fought to keep his family together and took care of his other responsibility. Overall a really good read. less

A short book but the message was good. I liked that the author spoke from three points of view.

For a short story, an interesting read. 4 stars, and the emotion within it is true to life.
