review 1: My first Harlequin. This is one for the baby book.This was absolutely amazing. I went into this book with low expectations, and came out wanting more. Brenda Joyce is a fantastic writer. This book has so many elements, so many things going on, and yet, instead of being overwhelming, it was great, seamless even. It was realistic and emotional and beautifully done. Five well-deserved stars.
review 2: I would've liked it more had there been an actual courtship between these two than what went on. If she hadn't (spoiler), he probably wouldn't have (spoiler). If you read it, you'll know what I mean! Stephen's character felt a little lacking in depth, which is a shame, because I really had hopes for him. I cared SQUAT for the Dowager's story, and not much more ... morefor the goings-on of Stephen's family. I'm really not interested in reading other stories about the others. less
