review 1: Brett Battles "Quinn, the Cleaner" series is probably the best of those "morale assassin characters novels". There are some more around (Like Mark Greany's Grey Man or Jeff Lindsay's Dexter or Tom Wood's Victor, the assassin), but Quinn and his team really stand out. I had to think about the reason, maybe it is due to the trio (recently quartet) dynamics with girlfriend/techie Orlando and apprentice Nat, that sets it apart from the usual killer=loner setting. Aparently you can be a killer AND have a social life. (Did I just write that?")
review 2: This book is not only well written, but a real page turner from the start. You're roped in by two endearing characters, Tessa and Abe, and you keep reading just so you'll know what happened to them. If you like spy
... morethrillers you can't go wrong with this one. I did have a couple of confusing moments when some scenes were repeated after a shift was made to another point-of-view character; there are better ways to handle the transition, and I think more thought should have been given to that, but after I got used to it I didn't find it as jarring. It doesn't detract that much from the reading experience, and if you haven't read it, this book is certainly a good way to spend a little time. less
