review 1: This volume drives the story of Marko and Alana just a little bit farther. We get a deeper understanding of their relationship. It also introduces Marko's ex, Gwendolyn, as well as his parents Barr and Klara. The family continues their journey to Quietus, home of the reclusive author D. Oswald Heist, whose book, A Nighttime Smoke has been very influential on our fated lovers. Unfortunately, their pasts follow them making it seem unlikely that they will ever be able to outrun the war between their planets. . .
review 2: Saga is on another level. It is truly a different novel that is thrilling from beginning to end. The world just unfolds in front of you and it's hard not to be when the world feels to rich. This volume we got to meet Marko's parents and I've got ... moreto say that they were a great addition to the pairing. Barr a dying old man just wanted to see his granddaughter. While, Klara is tough and abrasive, but she is going to protect her family at all costs. It's fascinating seeing all the characters interact. The final chapter between IV and Heist was a great final chapter that left me longing for more. less
