review 1: Poems about beer, video games, dating, Bruce Willis movies, and finding roommates on Craigslist?? What is this world coming to?? ;) Broetry is a collection of humorous poems for the the modern day man. Then why the hell did I read these? Well, I was curious about it after I saw this book nominated for the 2011 Goodreads Choice awards. The poems were quick and easy to read and some did make me chuckle. Some of the poems made me feel slightly old given the pop-culture references and the age the McGackin said he was at the time of those pop-culture events.

... moretay true to the great bait-and-switch ending of the original, I got super excited. Unfortunately, Broetry got a lot more uneven from there, but thanks to several inspired moments, it ended up being a decently funny little book. Good for college kids, especially English majors. less
