Genres: Contemorary Romance M/M

To help out his sister, Scott moved to the small town of Montgomery, where there isn’t much to do and no one for him to date. Well, there’s one other openly gay man in town—Henry ‘Cole’ Porter, a widower who runs the school library, but after one drunken night together, Cole has kept his distance. Scott is used to that. He spends a lot of time working out to look good, and from the slow way he talks and the frat house atmosphere at the fire station where he works, it’s easy to assume he’s stupid. Most people are happy to admire his body and assume that’s all he wants from them, and deep down, Scott is too afraid to try asking for more.

Which is why sweet, romantic Scott has been secretly pining after Cole for months when some of the town’s nosier residents decide Cole has been single long enough. They have a plan to throw every successful, smart, professional gay man in a thirty-mile radius Cole’s way, whether he likes it or not. Their list of candidates doesn’t include Scott, and Scott’s insecurities prevent him from stepping forward—even when it seems as though Cole is asking him to.

Brace yourself for a ride full of pining in this one. Scott is the town’s hottie but it comes with a dark twist: he’s outed by the damned knitting (?) group and I really hate them for it. What’s great though is that it’s constantly challenged by both Scott and his coworkers (the firefighters!)

Scott cares for his health and that means his diet and his exercising. Unfortunately, that’s made him sound “shallow” to the town folk and they’re absolutely trash for it. Scott though doesn’t give a damn about their opinion even though it’s the same opinion that stops them from adding him to the list of candidates for widower Cole Porter’s list of eligible bachelors. Considering the huge crush Scott has for Cole… he was more than hurt.

What’s amazing though is to read every date Cole is set up on (without his knowledge because really these women are DETESTABLE!) go absolutely wrong in front of Scott’s eyes! What’s even more amazing is watch Cole pay more attention to Scott in every date in increasing amounts of obvious fondness.

Scott is a lovely man and I adore how he felt so strongly about his health. He is also noted as Korean. Moved to help his sister with her kids. He’s all kinds of adorable which is why it’s no wonder that Mr. Porter too harbors a teensy crush on the Town’s Hottie.
