review 1: This was a really good book on goal-setting and goal-achieving. I don't think that there's anything especially revolutionary in here, but I think this book definitely combines the best practices of all the various books I've read or been exposed to on this topic. Having a shorter focus than the typical year plan has definitely been transformative in my life (when I've applied it), and tying big picture visions to weekly actions is key.My only hang-ups with the book were its' decidedly business bent (though that is the logical focus for their market) and the danger that these books always arouse in becoming so riveted by efficiency, performance, and "hitting your numbers" that relationships suffer (as they are the most difficult elements of our lives to quantify) and we b... moreegin to find our identity and value in what we accomplish.With that said, if you are wanting to perform at a higher level in any area or reach goals more effectively, this is definitely the place to look.
review 2: Nothing new - goal setting, accountability, breaking visions into smaller tasks, short-term goals / horizons in service of long-term goals.It reminds me of all the different books & techniques to knit socks. For all intents and purposes - they're the same thing, the only difference is marketing & a tiny novelty to hook you... I should probably stop reading business / finance books for that reason. All the same basics with different presentations / levels of intricacy in guidance.The only 2 chapters that I found useful were 17 on time management and 19 on commitments. less
