review 1: awesome book. those who love the fact of student teacher love story must read it. there is romance, there is happiness, there is sorry, there is grief etc etc.I love Mr Daniels. From reading this book I want my own Mr Daniels.all I can say that this book is awesome. must read.p.s. first time writing a review it might be not that good and my English is horrible so please forgive any grammatical errors.
review 2: Ok... Let me just start off by saying, the premise is a lot like "Slammed" by Colleen Hoover. I don't really post reviews on here but this book made me do so. Similarities: 1. Every chapter starts with lyrics from a band. Slammed, Chapter 1"I'm as nowhere as I can be,Could you add somewhere to me?"-The Avett Brothers, "Salina"Loving Mr. Daniels, Chapter ... more1"Death isn’t frightening, it isn’t a curse.I just fucking wish that it would’ve taken me first."- Romeo’s Quest2. Both heroes and heroines in Slammed and Loving Mr. Daniels have had tragic deaths in the family. 3. Heroines in both novels moved to new states after a tragic death in each of their families. 4. Heroines' names are both derived from the combination of two different names their parent(s) wanted. Layken from Slammed: "She (mom) loved the name Layla, after the Eric Clapton song. Dad loved the name Kennedy, after a Kennedy."Ashlyn from Loving Mr. Daniels: "My mom liked the names Gabrielle, Ashley, and Lynn and couldn’t choose. So Gabby became Gabrielle and I became Ashlyn."I didn't even realize all these things (or maybe I haven't paid enough attention) until I got to chapter 9 which reveals:5. Daniel is Ashlyn's High School English teacher. Will Cooper is Layken's High School teacher. Both couples only found out about their situations when they bumped into each other in school.I was actually enjoying this book until I got to the student teacher reveal. I suddenly felt like I was reading Slammed all over again, with the exception of Slams poetry of course. less
