review 1: I hate this book and never read through the entire thing once I realized Cara turns into a Unicorn. This ruins the story for me and it just wrong on so many levels. The books just get too dark and change completely from books one and two to books three and four. I don't think I would have liked how he finished this quartet even if he had done them in time for me to read them all when I was a child. I read book 1 at age 11 and by the time book four came out I was 26.
review 2: After waiting over 10 years to finish this series it did not disappoint! This book is written for young adults, but Coville builds a wonderfully beautiful story with multiple story lines, rich characters, and complex themes. Luster is a magical world, full of mythical creatures, but is s... moretill ready to deal with death, loss, anger, and failure. Great read and I'm so glad I finally got to complete a story I started so long ago. less
