review 1: The Scarecrow story is pretty great -- a strong detective romp featuring great exchanges between Bruce and Dick and fantastic, early, rawer art from Sean Murphy. The Two-Face story is pretty terrible: the art and colors are inconsistent and the story itself tries to filter down everything that happened in THE LONG HALLOWEEN into two prestige-issues. It doesn't work and feels more like a highlight reel.
review 2: I only give this book five stars for the Scarecrow origin story. The Two Face origin is unoriginal( a copy of Loeb and Sale's The Long Halloween, but not done as well, and the art just doesn't cut it for me). ... morecomics. Instead of liking birds, something that never really clicked for me, he was terrorized into submission with them by his tyrannical great-grandmother. I won't spoil it any further for anyone who hasn't read it, but I highly recommend reading it. If you like Scarecrow, buy it; but don't expect much from the Two Face story. less

The Two-Face story's nicely done, but the Scarecrow one lacks in both the writing and the art.
